It all begins with an idea.
This series of works is bold in its use of contrasting colour and dynamic brushstrokes. The use of warm hues like orange, pink and yellow evoke a feeling of warmth and sunshine while the cooler hues, the purples and deep blues, capture a sense of coolness and water. The brushstrokes are painterly and fluid, at times geometric, reminiscent of a patchwork quilt. Mountains feature prominently for their majestical awe and metaphorical significance. It’s often said “the best view comes after the hardest climb”.
